Rimal participates at the 2009 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

Rimal Publications participated in the 19th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair held from 17 to 22 March 2009, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the UAE.

With several new Rimal titles on display (listed below), we took the opportunity to meet with a wide range of international publishers and distributors, discussing translation and sales rights in a number of countries.

Life at the Crossroads: A History of Gaza (New Edition) by Gerald Butt

Jerusalemites: A Living Memory by Dr. Hazem Zaki Nusseibeh

Khafaya al-Amthal by Hala Espanioly

Glafkos Clerides: Path of a Country by Niyazi Kizilyurek

Challenging Christian Zionism: Theology, Politics and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (Translated to the Arabic) by Naim Ateek

During the Book Fair, Dr. Hazem Nusseibeh signed copies of his book, Jerusalemites, and took part in a panel discussion on Jerusalem to mark the fact that the latter has been designated the Arab Cultural Capital of 2009.

International Book Fair is flourishing. That’s because Abu Dhabi offers the best access to industry professionals and key market players in the Middle East and North Africa. In 2008, Rimal Publications was among 482 publishers from 42 countries presented books in Arabic, English, various Indian languages, French, German, Chinese and many other tongues. Visitors got to discover new business opportunities among around 600,000 titles on display.

Abu Dhabi provides the location, infrastructure, dedicated resources and a commitment to translation to bridge the gap between international and Arabic markets. One of the most important tools to promote this goal is the region’s most comprehensive bilingual catalogue of industry professionals.

Rimal Publications plans to particpate in the 2010 ADIBF.
