Jannie Smerup Nielsen

Jannie was born in Denmark and lived there most of her life. Since she was young, has been interested in the world and people from other countries and cultures. This has led her on several interesting journeys, from Spain, Latvia, Nicaragua, Borneo, to the Faroe Islands and Somaliland and other countries. It also led her to make friends from various countries, even while still living in Denmark through volunteering, helping refugees and immigrants to learn the Danish language and customs.

She chose to study international development and geography at a university in Denmark, knowing she would like to try to live abroad someday. She decided to move to Dubai with her husband in 2009.
