The Sea

From Niki's THE SEA

My uncle, who had a special pass, took me with him into the harbour and we went aboard the ships, looking back onto the walls of Famagusta and the opening to the sea. We passed the Venetian lion and we sat down to have a "glyko" by the church of St Nicholas. This senstation of the sea and the harbour, I only ever felt again, through the paintings of Pol Georgiou.

 

The book is written by Niki Marangou in Greek and includes the English translation with beautiful photography by Selma Ancira.
